Hampton & Richmond Borough forward Jamal Lowe scores & assists twice in pre-season win over Tonbridge Angels
Hampton & Richmond Borough forward Jamal Lowe scored once and set up two as the National League South side beat Ryman Premier Division outfit Tonbridge Angels in the Jimmy Hill & Geoff Harvey Memorial Trophy, hosted at Corinthian Casuals.
The former Barnet front man, who scored 14 goals and assisted 17 last term as Hampton won the Ryman Premier Division title, set up the game’s first goal inside five minutes as he evaded challenges in the Tonbridge penalty box before cooly picking out teammate Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick who found the back of the net.
Lowe had an early chance on ten minutes to get his name on the scoresheet as neat link up play set him free in the box but his left-footed shot was well blocked by the Tonbridge keeper.
The provider turned goalscorer seven minutes before half-time as a quick exchange high up the pitch with Nicke Kabamba sent the 21-year-old through on goal, who raced into the box and calmly finished into the bottom left corner to make the score 2-0.
The game’s third goal didn’t take long to come after and Lowe was involved yet again. Nice work down the right from Hippolyte-Patrick allowed a quick one-two with Lowe whose deft return pass allowed the right winger to lash a shot in.
Kabamba made it 4-0 just after the hour mark as Hampton began their pre-season schedule with a resounding win to make the final of the pre-season competition.Click here to stay up to date with AtTheMatch
