The Golf Trust founder Cae Menai-Davis has won the England Golf Innovation Award at the England Golf Awards.
The award recognises the work The Golf Trust, an AtTheMatch member, which promotes golf as an inclusive game across the UK.
Cae and his team take the game to inner-city communities, offering everyone the opportunity to play, regardless of their circumstances and has proven pivotal having worked with 5,000 girls in the sport in just four months.
The gala dinner at the England Golf annual conference celebrates the golfers and golf clubs who make the game great and inspire others to play.
Cae said afterwards: “This award means a lot, not just to myself but everybody involved with The Golf Trust. To be recognised by the governing body is a huge achievement and one we have great pride in.
“To be able to bring golf to so many people who would not normally have the chance, is something we love. This award goes to all the people who have made an impact on our lives, by being able to provide them with the opportunity to play this great game.
“To be recognised in this way for our Golf’s Got Talent project is testament to all the girls who took a leap in to the unknown by learning golf.”
Jason Mitchell, England Golf’s County Development Officer for Middlesex, said: “Golf’s Got Talent has had a huge impact.”
Ladies European Tour player Hannah Burke added: “Cae has endless enthusiasm and drive and is so dedicated to making golf accessible to all.”
